Coaching Tips
- Rotate the forearm through the air, tracking the ball with the racket.
- Use an open racket face to absorb the ball on contact.
- Control the height and pace of the shot to allow time to move the racket between volleys.
Make it easier
- Use a softer ball, such as a sponge ball.
- Allow one or two bounces on the strings between shots.
Make it harder
- Challenge the player to make 10 consecutive volleys in a row.
Safety
Remember, you can use the STEP framework – Space, Time, Equipment, and People – to adapt any activity, making it easier or more challenging to suit your players.
Always check that there's enough space for everyone to take part safely, and ensure any under-18s are wearing protective goggles during the session.
