Help players reach their potential!

About this course

Whether players are mastering the basics or competing, you play a key role in their journey. This course enables candidates to analyse, develop and deliver player centred coaching and deliver plans that cover all areas of a player’s personal development.

You’ll learn through a blend of e-learning, webinars, and four full-day practical sessions over a 7 month period, giving you the confidence to deliver person-focused coaching. To complete the course and become certified, you’ll need to attend all elements, complete the online modules, and pass an assessment. Some learning must be completed beforehand to get the most from your time on court.

Who's it for?

What you'll learn

If you’re passionate about developing talented players and have at least two years’ coaching experience, this course could be for you. It’s designed for coaches working (or aspiring to work) in talent development environments, such as junior county squads, performance clubs, or regional programmes.

If you’re looking to grow your coaching in a different setting like schools, community programmes or club play check out our CPD workshops, which offer a great way to develop your coaching for those environments.

  • diagnose faults in technique
  • develop strategies to present feedback and enhance effectiveness
  • describe the physical demands of squash and the energy systems used
  • identify, test and plan physical conditioning sessions for squash
  • cover players’ lifestyle skills
  • implement appropriate techniques to enhance a player’s mental toughness

This blended learning course takes around 7 months to complete. You’ll cover:

  • What it means to be a confident, inclusive coach, and how to bring that mindset to every session to inspire players of all abilities.
  • Ways to create safe, welcoming environments that break down barriers to participation.
  • Practical tools and techniques to deliver fun, engaging squash sessions to groups and individuals.
  • How to adapt your coaching to suit players of different abilities.
  • Ways to build connection and create a lasting impact on and off the court.
  • Supporting player development through progressive practices, purposeful interventions, and mental skills.
  • The power of reflection in shaping your coaching philosophy and taking your practice to the next level
