Who is this course for?

This course is aimed predominantly at coaches and leaders working in squash. If you’re a committee member, please take the ‘Safeguarding in squash for committee members’ course.

How long is this certificate valid for?

This safeguarding certificate lasts for three years, after which time, you’ll need to retake the course to refresh your knowledge. This is standard practice in safeguarding.

Does this course meet the safeguarding training requirements for coaches?

Yes, this provides you with an introduction to safeguarding which allows you to coach children. You will also require an England Squash enhanced DBS and a coaching qualification or Squash Stars award.

Do you accept other safeguarding courses?

No, at the moment, we only accept this course to ensure everyone has the same understanding of safeguarding in squash. However, if you have a safeguarding certificate on your England Squash profile before 31 July 2025, this will be valid until its expiry.

I previously took the UK Coaching safeguarding course. Is this still valid?

If you took the UK Coaching safeguarding course prior to August 2025, this will be valid until its expiry (3 years after being awarded the certificate). Once it has expired, you will be required to do England Squash’s Safeguarding in squash course to refresh your safeguarding knowledge.
