About this course
Ready, Set, Squash is designed to equip teachers with the skills and confidence to deliver fun, inclusive squash sessions in school. Whether you’re experienced in delivering PE or just starting your journey to get children more active, this course will guide you through simple, curriculum-linked activities that engage pupils and promote a lifelong love of movement.
With flexible delivery and a focus on enjoyment and inclusivity, you’ll learn how to bring squash to life in any school environment—no court required.

This course is ideal for primary and secondary school teachers, PE leads, school games organisers and teaching assistants involved in delivering physical activity in a school setting.
What you'll learn
In this course you’ll cover the following:
- How to deliver a squash programme that aligns with the school curriculum.
- Easy ways to introduce squash using everyday school spaces – you’ll get a range of session plans which you can start delivering as soon as you’re ready.
- Tips for keeping sessions inclusive, active, and fun for all pupils.
What can I do with this award?
Upon completion of this course, you’ll receive an official England Squash Ready, Set, Squash certificate and be ready to deliver an action-packed programme to your pupils!
Pre-requisites
This course has no pre-requisites. However, delivery of squash sessions in your school must be covered by your school’s own insurance. England Squash does not provide insurance for teachers delivering sessions, so please ensure you meet the requirements of your school or setting before getting started.

Once you’ve completed this course, as long as you meet your school’s requirements, you can start delivering Ready, Set, Squash to your pupils!
Absolutely! If you’re an England Squash coach and a teacher, you can take this course and start delivering squash to pupils. However, please be aware that you won’t be covered by your England Squash insurance unless you’re Coaches’ Club status is valid. If you meet your school’s requirements and are insured by them, that’s fine!
No – and that’s the joy of squash! It can be delivered in a sports hall, or outside, as long as you have some rackets, balls, and a wall.
We also offer equipment packages that give you everything you need to make your pupils’ experience even better.
No. It is expected that you will have a DBS through your school. England Squash does not provide insurance for teachers delivering this programme, so please ensure you meet the requirements of your school or educational setting before delivering the programme.
