About this course
This course is designed for anyone working or volunteering in a club setting. Whether you’re coaching, managing, or helping behind the scenes, knowing how to respond in an emergency is a vital part of keeping your environment safe.
What you'll learn
In this course we’ll cover the following:
- Your first aid responsibilities as a coach or volunteer.
- How first aid priorities help you treat casualties in the best way.
- The importance of CPR and the basics of performing CPR until help arrives.
- How to attend to different first aid situations including choking, bleeding, fractures, anaphylaxis and seizures.
How to get started

Frequently asked questions
This course is for anyone who works or volunteers in squash – coaches, leaders, committee members, volunteers, staff, or tournament organisers. The more people with basic first aid knowledge in your club, the better!
This course is not a formal qualification and does not make you a qualified first aider under HSE guidelines. Check with your club if they require you to hold a formal qualification.
This course provides you with a basic knowledge of first aid and is the accepted course for England Squash coaches.
This first aid certificate lasts for three years, after which time, you’ll need to retake the course to refresh your knowledge. This is standard practice in first aid.
No, at the moment, we only accept this course to ensure everyone has the same understanding of first aid. However, if you have a first aid certificate on your England Squash profile before 31 July 2025, this will be valid until its expiry.
If you hold a first aid certificate that has been previously approved by England Squash (pre-August 2025), it will remain valid until it expires (3 years from the date it was issued). Once it has expired, you will be required to take our First aid awareness course – don’t worry, it’s free for Coaches’ Club members!
To find your England Squash ID just log in to your account, and you will see your England Squash ID on your main dashboard along with a summary of your details. If you’ve forgotten your login details, you can reset them from this login screen.
